Burritos
Burritos
2 lbs. lean hamburger meat
2 lbs. pinto beans
Lime juice
Garlic salt
Onion salt
Cayenne pepper
3 cups cheese (or to taste)
30 Tortillas (they are SO much better w/the raw ones you cook yourself)
Soak pinto beans overnight, then cover beans in water and bring to boil, throw out water, repeat two more time, then boil beans for 4hrs., or until soft, in plenty of water with the lid on at a low temperature then mash when done. Add a little bit of the bean juice, lime juice, onion and garlic salt and a little cayenne pepper to taste. Making beans this way tastes very YUMMY.
or for a faster, but not quite as yummy version…
Fat free refried beans – just as many cans as makes the right combo of meat and beans that you like
Cook hamburger meat in a package of taco seasoning. Add hamburger meat and cheese to beans and mix it all together. Wrap ingredients in tortillas.
This recipe makes a lot of burritos! After you have them all made, individually wrap them in aluminum foil and stick them in the freezer. They warm up quick and easy in the microwave when you are short on time. The original put together is more time consuming, but it’s nice to have them in the freezer for when you don’t have time to cook something.
